David Vavrasek

David is Chief Business Officer to Aetion, responsible for leading operations and initiatives that will accelerate Aetion's international growth, the commercialization of its capabilities in new markets, and the Office of the CEO. Having joined Aetion as its first Chief People Officer, he also leads the People and Talent functions.

David has nearly 20 years of cross-functional experience building and leading teams across public and private companies, including rapidly scaling, venture-backed businesses. Prior to Aetion, he was one of the first executives at the health tech unicorn Capsule. Prior executive roles include time at Tyco International, XL Group, and New York Life.

While at Tyco International, David founded and served as the General Manager for the company’s efforts to leverage micro-observational sensor data and analytics for use by the insurance industry. These efforts centered on the premise that real-world data can help to supplement and enhance traditional actuarial methodologies. He holds eight issued and two pending U.S. patents in this area.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in business from Ithaca College and a master’s in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University. David is an Eagle Scout, and he remains active in Scouting where he currently serves on the Greater New York Council’s Board of Directors. He also chairs the Compensation and Benefits Committee.
